City Walls Mural Project

The MetroTech BID and the Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC) will join with the Stahl Organization and V3 Hotels to debut “City Walls,” an innovative art project that recasts construction sites as canvasses for public art. This first-ever construction wall art project in Downtown Brooklyn has transformed visual barriers into visual attractions, replacing blue barriers with art.

City Walls features the work of three acclaimed Brooklyn artists – Jessica Angel, Junkhaus and Nelson Rivas – who have created large scale murals at three separate construction sites in the MetroTech BID area. The murals, in styles ranging from abstract Picasso-esque to dramatic cityscapes, have transformed ordinary construction fences into street-front art galleries.

The murals are located on Duffield Street, Bridge Street, and Lawrence Street between Willoughby and Fulton Streets. They will be on view for some time.
